Rawalpindi board of education is one of the educational board working under the influence of Punjab government. Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi
The board chairman Prof Dr Mohammad Usman Ghali said
that the number of students who have completed their intermediate education is
on track to cross one million mark by 2023-24. He informed that over 50 per
cent of them had passed their SSC examinations this year.
He further added that they are also focused on enhancing
quality in educational institutions and provide effective training and
workshops to impart skills among students.
He further stated that a total of 1,000 schools had been
provided with digital labs for conducting practical sessions during Covid-19
pandemic and another 500 labs were being established at primary levels. In
addition, he stated that special focus was on providing quality coaching to
students and making them self motivated throughout the school journey for their
academic achievement.
Prof Ghali added that there was an increase in student
enrolment by 15 per cent from last year. Under current situation, about 710
students had completed secondary level and around 571 students had passed
intermediate level. Similarly, more than 1,500 middle schools and public
schools had been identified in Rawalpindi district.
He further added that approximately 300 high school
students were enrolled under 12th standard of syllabus whereas some 925 undergraduate
students were attending 10th and 11th grades. Meanwhile, 2,000 government
school children were undergoing intermediate level study in Rawalpindi.
As many as 19,000 teachers will be employed in different
districts, including the District Coordination Office (DCO), which has started
preparing the teaching curriculum to promote professional development of all
teachers. It is stated that these teachers would be trained through two weeks
course of lectures comprising theoretical subjects like mathematics,
psychology, languages, social sciences and other subjects.
Meanwhile, it was also announced that the National Human
Resource Development Council (NHRC) was holding its inaugural session next
week. During the event at NHRC office, various issues will be discussed
regarding employment opportunities, retention of staff, improving performance
of both private and public sector staff with reference to economic prosperity
and development.
The participants also welcomed a resolution to hold annual
general meeting and elections of the members of NDMA. However, the speakers
confirmed that both will be held in November 2022. Further they announced that
registration can be done online. They mentioned that registration fee would
range between PKR 8,000 to 8,200 which includes registration fee for local
council meetings, NHAI registration fee and PIA membership registration fee.
This amount is to be paid via bank transfer or credit card payment.
Meanwhile, officials said the chief secretary concerned
was expected to visit the province next week. As per details, Chief Secretary
Waqas Maqsood would go to Rawalipore and consult provincial deputy
commissioner.
The officers of Rawalistan Board, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and
Punjab were invited to pay visits to the province on Friday. They agreed to
undertake a comprehensive review of work performance, particularly human
resource management. While addressing the presspersons at her office, QC
Shamsul Alam Khan said that overall performance had improved after completion
of financial year 2021-22 as well but still remains below our expectations. She
added that we should remain vigilant at this juncture to improve the overall
performance of the institution.
Meanwhile, she also said that major changes had taken
place in all departments following amendments made in budget 2021-22 by PCB to
facilitate the ongoing process of recruitment. Both sides expressed
satisfaction as they were working together and strengthening mutually
beneficial relations.
She informed that now there is regular interaction between
HRM Committee and the administration. At present, each team is performing in
its own domain. All efforts have been made to get maximum results in terms of
promotions, salary increase etc. According to her, senior manager has been sent
for re-training of technical staff. A new recruitment policy has been
introduced and all decisions of selection, appointment and discipline are being
taken within the framework of the policy.
